Pitch Deadline 15th November, Final Deadline 6th December
Retrospect’s first 2021/22 Print Journal is in the works!
The concept of historical ‘development’ strikes a chord of teleological outrage in the mind of many an historian, but can we add nuance to this idea by looking at instances of development and deterioration throughout time?
This semester Retrospect is asking precisely this question, challenging our team to identify progress and collapse, occurring together or separately, building a picture of history, classics, and archaeology which does not necessitate ‘modernity’ or linear improvement.
If you would like to get involved with this project you can submit a 200-400 word pitch to us, letting us know what your article would focus on, what scholarship exists on your topic, and how it relates to Development and Deterioration. All articles must be on a topic relating to History, Classics, or Archaeology. Pitches are due in on the 15th of November, and will be returned to you with comments from our team of copy editors to help with the formulation of the final piece. The final deadline for submissions on this print issue is the 6th of December.
